Dongsung Chemical (KOSDAQ: 102260), a materials science solutions company, will participate in K2025, the world’s largest plastics and rubber exhibition, to be held in Düsseldorf, Germany, from October 8 to 15.
Under the theme “Sustainable Materials, Science for Life,” the company will present its latest innovations in eco-friendly and high-performance materials.
Among its eco-friendly offerings, Dongsung Chemical will introduce ECOVIVA®, a compostable packaging solution developed using bio-based raw materials such as PHA and PLA. The ECOVIVA® product line includes bead foam, bubble wrap, multilayer films, and bio-based hot melt adhesives, all engineered to biodegrade under specific environmental conditions. Notably, ECOVIVA® bead foam is certified for industrial composting by TÜV Austria (OK Compost Industrial) in Europe, and by the Biodegradable Products Institute (BPI) in the US.
The company will also unveil Bio-PET, produced using Bio-MEG derived from certified wood sourced from sustainably managed forests. This renewable alternative to petroleum-based MEG significantly reduces carbon emissions and avoids competition with food crops. Bio-PET is utilized in various applications, including food packaging, textiles, and films.
As part of its high-performance materials lineup, Dongsung Chemical will showcase solutions for various applications, including polyurethane used in ultra-lightweight footwear midsoles, automotive interiors, and memory foam products. Also featured is the company’s line of organic peroxides, which serve as key initiators and crosslinking agents in the production of polymers such as LDPE, PVC, and EVA.
“K2025 provides a vital platform to highlight our commitment to innovation and sustainability to the global market,” said ManWoo Lee, CEO of Dongsung Chemical. “We look forward to expanding our global partnerships through our portfolio centered on eco-friendly, high-performance materials.”
